The Fire TV Stick is the most common device our subscribers use, and setup is straightforward once you know the order of operations. Allow ten minutes, and have your welcome email open on your phone.
Before you start
- A Fire TV Stick 2nd generation or newer — a 4K or 4K Max is best.
- Your VexaStream server URL, username and password.
- A 5 GHz Wi-Fi network, or an Ethernet adapter if your Wi-Fi is unreliable.
Step 1: Allow app installation if needed
If your chosen player is on the Amazon Appstore you can skip this. Otherwise open Settings, My Fire TV, Developer Options and turn on Apps from Unknown Sources. If Developer Options is hidden, open Settings, My Fire TV, About and click your device name seven times.
Step 2: Install a player
Search the Appstore for an IPTV player that supports M3U playlists or Xtream Codes logins. Appstore versions update themselves, which is one less thing to maintain.
Step 3: Enter your credentials
Open the player, choose to add an Xtream Codes account, and enter the server URL, username and password exactly as they appear in your email. Watch for an autocapitalized first character — it is the single most common typo on a TV keyboard.
Step 4: Let the guide sync
The first sync downloads the channel list and program guide and can take a few minutes. Leave the app open. When it finishes, set the guide time zone to your own so listings match local schedules.
Step 5: Tune playback
- Set the decoder to hardware acceleration.
- Raise the buffer one step if your connection varies.
- Turn off the Fire TV screensaver if it interrupts long viewing sessions.
